Guy Who Was Missing For 26 Years Is Found Inside A Hole Being Held Captive By Next Door Neighbor

DailyMailUK - A man who vanished almost 30 years ago at the age of 17 following an alleged kidnapping has been found alive in his neighbour's house in a hole in the ground in a sheep pen underneath stacks of hay. His family assumed he had been killed during the civil war that raged for 10 years. The truth was much closer to home: the missing man was found in his neighbour's house less than 200 metres away from that of his own family. A 61-year-old is now in police custody after Omar, now 45, was rescued on May 12.

Klemmer's solitary confinement looking like a total cake walk. One of the worst fates on the planet is the people who get wrongfully sentenced to prison for a crime they didn't commit, but what happened to this dude, Omar, is 10 billion times worse. Kidnapped, and thrown down into a hole in someone's basement for 26 years. How do you survive that? At least in jail you can interact with other inmates, and at the very least walk around. Omar had nothing to do but count pieces of hay all by himself and do Johnny Carson impressions. The worst part? The Algerian media said Omar was unable to call out for help because he had a spell cast on him. Sitting in a dank basement with black magic being used against you? Nothing worse.

What a fucking commitment by this kidnapper for keeping this guy alive for 26 years. This is the longest known kidnapping ever. The second closest is a girl in California who was held captive for 18 years. Going missing in 1998 and was being freed in 2024 is traveling through time the slowest way possible, and being dropped into the future. Omar was taken while dial up internet was popping off, and came out to self driving cars. How long does it take you to catch up on 26 years of history? Do you start with the major world event details, and then slowly work in small things like a guy with bleach blonde hair who wore a Hawaiian shirt covered in flames was the biggest celebrity on the planet for a few years while you were gone because he took people to a place called Flavortown?

Besides the trauma of being kidnapped, the overwhelming stimulation from the new world around him would be terrifying to deal with. Seeing your parents again for the first time, and you're no longer a teenager, you're a grown ass 45 year old man. The saddest part about this story is Omar's mom passed away in 2013, never knowing the truth about what happened to her son.

While imprisoning someone against their will is the most fucked up detail about this story - a close second to that is it's believed the kidnapper poisoned and killed the family dog because the loyal K9 was starting to pick up on the scent of his owner being held captive a couple hundred feet away from his home.

The only reason Omar was discovered was because someone claiming to be the kidnapper's brother called in a tip. The brother of the kidnapper didn't call this in because "it was the right thing to do", the brother did it because he was being squeezed out of some inheritance money. Sounds like these guys had some real winners as parents, I'm sure they are extremely proud of their boys.

After the tip was called in, the house was searched, and Omar was found. While the house was being searched, the kidnapper attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended. I know the whole eye for an eye thing is not how you're supposed to live, but justice would be the judge letting Omar lock up the kidnapper in a shitty basement cell for the rest of time. The responsibility would suck, but that would be poetic justice.
