Dudes Rock: 106 Year Old Breaks Record For Oldest Person To Skydive

UPI News -- Alfred "Al" Blaschke originally earned the title of the oldest person to tandem skydive when he jumped out of a plane at the age of 103 in 2020, but his record was broken by Swedish woman Rut Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson, who was 103 years and 259 days old when she went skydiving.

Blaschke recaptured his title by going skydiving at the age of 106 years and 327 days old. He was joined by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who made his first jump.

"If you think you can't, you're just underestimating yourself. Everyone is more capable than they think. They just need to make the decision to try," Blaschke told Guinness World Records.

Fucking awesome. I'll be the first to say I'm not really the best when it comes to honoring our elders. I'll mutter under my breath in traffic, I'll get pissy if they walk too slow in the mall, and hell I've even criticized the elderly for doing silly things like falling off a bike just to name a random one. I know I shouldn't be this impatient, and understand this country was built on those before us, but sometimes impulse takes over and you honk a horn because it shouldn't take 11 minutes for the geezer loverly old person in the Buick front of you. We're all in a rush, we all think the place we're going is more important than the place everyone else is going, we're all guilty of it. So instead of honoring those, we beep, we curse under our breath etc. In reality we should learn a little about how they do things in Vienna. If you haven't listened to this ... do it. It is a great lesson.

Anyway, back to this guy Al Blaschke ... he fucking rocks. If all older people took the world by the ball like this guy we'd be in a better place. Talk about balls of steel, people half his age wouldn't do this. And to do it, lose the record and then come back over the top to break it again is fucking awesome. Proving once again ... dudes rock.
