Nicky Smokes Was Right And Wanted A Blog About It

The kid wants a blog? The kid gets a blog.

First off, hands up. I was absolutely wrong. I tweeted this before Game 2.

Nope. The Celtics instead lost by 10...at home...to a team without their best player. It's a horrific loss. It reminded me a little of when the Celtics dropped three games to the Hawks in the first round of what would be a championship season in 2008. They were heavily favored as well and couldn't beat the Hawks (led by rookie Al Horford!) in Atlanta.

The bigger differences here is tonight was a home loss and to a Heat team that really has been the Celtics boogeyman. They got smacked around for almost the whole game. Now, we have a real series when I thought this would be a total cakewalk.

That's not enough for our lovable idiot Nicky Smokes though. He had every right to have his moment. No issue at all with mocking my idiotic annihilation comment.

When he first got hired, I thought Nicky Smokes seemed like a total douchebag. Got to meet him and hang out with him in Chicago and instead found out that I like the guy a lot. He's true to himself and there is no schtick. He's himself and seems like he is really hustling out there in Chicago. I'd gladly grab a drink or hang out with Nicky Smokes. Hank's boat even sounds kind of fun (but I can't do that to another Celtics fan.)

But let's get past all the bullshit. The Heat's season is doomed. I think you know this. I think if we strapped you to a lie detector test, you'd correctly say that this shabby Heat team isn't getting past the Celtics.

The Heat absolutely tied this series up. This is your moment. Enjoy it. Pop the champagne and confetti. I'm not going to be bold enough to say the Celtics sweep the rest of the series. But mark my words, the Heat season will not see May 6th. There isn't a small chance I am wrong. There is NO CHANCE the Heat make the second round.

Would there be a chance with Jimmy Butler? Sure. You proved that last year. But he's not playing in this series. You're outmanned and outgunned. So, let me repeat myself.

THERE IS NO CHANCE THE HEAT MAKE THE SECOND ROUND.

I know you have trouble reading so feel free to have someone in the office dictate this blog for you. If I am wrong, I'll fly out to Chicago on my own dime for the first game of the second round so you can laugh directly in my face for the entire game.

But if you are as excited as you are in this video, will you do the same? Would we see you in New York City for the beginning of the second round? Or do you know this is the last bright light before the darkness envelops your sports life for months?

You've got tonight Nicky. Congratulations. I hope you partied like it was the NBA Finals. See you in Manhattan in a couple weeks.
