Credit To The Bears, The New Lake Front Stadium Renderings Look AWESOME
The Bears finally did something right. They nailed the timing of this. $4.6B for a new stadium with the taxpayers floating 50% of the bill...who cares? We've got Caleb Williams. They absolutely nailed the timing and the lay-out looks spectacular.
Honestly looks amazing to me. I wish they'd splurge for a retractable roof because something about the Bears playing all their games inside that feels wrong.
There's still things to figure out, obviously. Transportation and parking aren't apparent in the rendering. Building the stadium on the south lot and having no designated parking, at least in these renderings, means that the tailgate scene is kind of dead which would suck. I am sure there is a plan. There has to be. You can't go from a transportation nightmare for 60,000 people and then add another 20-25k to capacity with even less space for those people to go. I am choosing not to worry about that now. Park at McCormack and maybe there's other solutions yet to be determined. Either way, this is a great week for the Bears. It finally feels like we have competent adults in charge of the organization. A GM with a plan. A President that looked at everything, didn't get bullied by Arlington Heights. Let's just be positive and allow ourselves to dream a bit.
