Like A Scene Out Of Hoosiers - Alabama School District Goes Crazy After Finding Out TV Legend Rush Propst Is Still Their Football Coach

All I can think about watching these clips is Jimmy Chitwood:

Not saying any of these kids are Jimmy Chitwood, but look at that reaction! It's a scene out of Hoosiers. Not only that, but this story gets crazier as people were pushing for a superintendent to get fired over Rush Propst:

[Source] - As a special called meeting Wednesday morning was held before a packed house, an agenda item before the Pell City School Board of Education to fire controversial football coach Rush Propst failed when no one on the board made a motion to vote.

No one on the board offered a motion to vote on the item so it died, keeping the contracts in place for the Propsts.

Board members Norman Wilder and Greg Crump spoke at the meeting in support of Propst and Wilder recommended asking for the resignation of the superintendent rather than Propst. That also brought a large reaction from the crowd.

The dude is basically untouchable! But this is the Rush Propst life. It's a never-ending saga that was brought into our lives with the legendary show Two-A-Days. You wanna talk about the good old days? MTV is - I should say was - an important TV channel for anyone my age growing up. We had all the music videos, TRL was as heated as any debate possible and we had reality shows. Obviously you know I love The Challenge and Real World (RIPIP No Quitters). But, we also had Two-A-Days, arguably the greatest football show in TV history. I say this as someone who loves Friday Night Lights. That's the good old days.

And now we have a meeting where he's supposed to get fired but ends up not getting voted on. Sure. At this point I believe anything you say about Rush Propst. Look at some of these headlines:

Yep, all checks out. But you know what? These kids and parents want to play for Rush Propst. You don't get this sort of reaction for some Joe Blow guy out there. You get this for a legend in Rush Propst. You get this for a man who cares about one thing and one thing only - winning. That's what football is all about. This isn't some podunk football either, we're talking Alabama football. We need a full documentary on this man. Not about his team, the entire Rush Propst career and life.

Incredible to see people of all ages go nuts for this decision. It's a new year in Pell City, time for Rush to get back to work.
