People Are Making $80K a Year Reselling NYC Restaurant Reservations Online

We may have found the best job in the world. If there's a profession out there that's paying more than $80,000 a year for less work than this, I have yet to be made aware of it. Maybe being a member of Congress, but the barrier to entry there is a bit higher — unless Billy Football does it, in which case I retract that statement.

This is the most New York City thing I've ever heard of, though. College kids work the phones every day to snatch up reservations at Carbone and Polo Bar a month out and then sell them to 27-year-old Wall Street guys trying to impress a girl from Hinge for their third date. A tale as old as time.

Is it really this easy? I'm sure there's some sort of trick to it, but these kids make it sound like you just perfect a couple accents, call right when the places open every morning and you've secured yourself a nice payday. This might be an infinite money glitch.

While I'd love to be on the money-making side of this venture, I went on this Appointment Trader website and it looks like you're playing the stock market for a reservation. It's insane. I'll eat at 10 p.m. long before I pay a pretty penny for the right to then go spend more money. I will not be made a fool by a Brown University sophomore.
