The Scene At Borrelli's After The Islanders Allowed 2 Goals In The Final Minutes To Blow Game 2 To The Hurricanes Is The Saddest Thing I've Ever Seen

This is going to be one of those blogs that Francis hates, because it's all tweets and no commentary. But there's really not much more to be said. Borrelli's has always been kind of a mythical place to me. I've never been there. I only ever hear of the stories through Barstool. I see the videos of Frankie Borrelli morphing into a complete cartoon character as he looses his god damn mind while watching the Islanders alongside is dear old dad, and the occasional psychotic maniac of a person that is Stu Feiner.

I don't even know who else is in the background. It's just a bunch of Long Island folk who live and die with the New York Islanders. The place just turns into the rowdiest borderline fine dine yet still casual sit down Italian restaurant the world has ever seen when the Islanders are on TV. It seems like such an exclusive club of people. I'd love to witness a game there some night. But tonight was not that night. I would have wanted nothing to do with being at Borrelli's on Monday night. I don't even feel like I'm close enough to Frankie to speak on this. The Islanders means more to the Borrelli's than I will ever understand. But that evening needs to be documented on the blog. I'll let the videos speak for themselves.

Looks pretty incredible up to this point! Everybody having a blast. The Islanders are playing lights out. Frankie Borrelli's dad is quite literally risking death just days after having heart surgery to watch his beloved Islanders in the playoffs at the restaurant he's called home for decades. You can't write a story better than this. But apparently God had other plans. Apparently God is a bad person

Can't make it up. It quite literally does not get worse than this. To watch an entire family's guts ripped out live on stream. For the Islanders to go from surely tying the series at 1-1, to tragically letting it slip through their fingers in the last minutes. Now Carolina leads 2-0. Thoughts and prayers to the Borrelli family. That was extremely difficult to watch.
