Gotta Support The Team: Injured Goalie Is Accused Of Using A Laser Pointer While Sitting In A Suite To Try And Blind The Opposing Keeper
[Source] - Mexican side CF Monterrey has filed an official complaint with Liga MX’s disciplinary committee against crosstown rivals UANL Tigres after Tigres goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman was caught by cameras shining a laser pointer towards the field from a suite.
Guzman is said in the complaint to have directed the laser toward Monterrey goalkeeper Esteban Andrada.
Several videos circulating on social media show a figure resembling Guzman in the luxury box with his teammates with his arms folded, shining the laser onto the field of play
Laser pointers might be the hottest topic when it comes to soccer, usually penalty kicks. Not the keeper coming off the line early or how everyone screams how easy it to score. The use of laser pointers is something that is screamed about, can't do it. Famously Mo Salah had this:
Now I fully understand that you shouldn't be allowed to do this. BUT, when you're the starting keeper out to injury, you gotta find a way to support the team. The only thing he knew is to shine a laser pointer at the opposing keeper. If he can't be out there, he's gonna make sure no one else is. That's how he decided to support the team and winning is all that matters. I've blogged about Guzman before:
The fitting part? It was a tie. At least it was 3-3, but if you're accused of shining a laser pointer at an opposing goalie, you gotta make sure your team gets the win. Can't blow a lead. Now it's worth noting Guzman apologized, so yeah, he was caught.
[Translated] - As I already did privately and in coherence with the values of the Institution that I represent, I want to take advantage of the importance of Social Networks to publicly offer my apologies to Esteban for the event that occurred last night during passages of the 1st Half of the Clásico Regio
The lesson as always? If you're going to do something like this, have a fall guy. Convince one of your buddies in the suite to do it for you. Support the team and have someone else take the blame. That's rule number 1.
