Dumping Them Out: Fuck Dentists

Welcome back to another episode of Dumping Them Out. I'm mad about my dentist.

For the longest time, veterinarians have been at the top of my "biggest scammers" list. I've wrote about it before. When you take your dog or cat to the vet, you're fully at their mercy. If a vet wanted to, he (or she) could tell you that your dog has cancer, and that it'll cost $5,000 to get the cancer removed. Then you just have give them $5k based on their word. Then you thank them for saving your dogs life and be on your way. Unless you're a vet yourself, you'd have no way of knowing whether or not he's lying to you. Every time I go to the vet I feel like they're ripping me off. Veterinarians have been on top of my shit list for a long time.

But now I have a new enemy. Dentists are my new enemy. I went to the dentist on Thursday morning to get my wisdom teeth removed and I now have dentist beef.

I had 3 wisdom teeth taken out. It sucked. The actual wisdom teeth extraction didn't hurt so bad, but the mouth numbing process was hell. They shoved a series of needles into my gums, and it hurt so bad I wanted to die. It was some of the worst pain I've ever experienced. But that part was ok. I know that's part of the deal. They have to numb your mouth in order to get your teeth out. I'm not mad about that. But I'm mad about what happened after my teeth were removed. Once everything was finished, the dental hygenist told me all I needed to do for the next few days was "Eat soft foods, refrain from alcohol, and don't smoke or use nicotine."

So that's exactly what I did. I followed all of her instructions. But according to the internet, there were actually WAY more things I wasn't supposed to do. For example:

-  I COUNT NOT use a straw

- I COULD NOT eat hot food

- I COULD NOT aggressively swish water around in your mouth

But this bitch never told me that. So of course I did all of those things. It wasn't until the next day when I did some Googling that I realized I had been doing all the things I shouldn't have been doing.  I fucked myself. Now, my bottom right wisdom tooth has turned into a "Dry Socket". If you don't know what Dry Socket is, it's exactly what you don't want to happen after you get a tooth removed. My mouth hurts like shit. My whole jaw is swollen. I'm in constant pain. Now I  have to go back to the dentist tomorrow night to get it fixed.

I just feel like they could have given me better instruction. I have half a mind to think that they did this shit on purpose. I think they gave me bad instruction so that I would have to come back to their office to have my teeth fixed one more time. Just so they could get more money from my insurance.

That's maybe a little bit extreme. But I really feel like they sent me out of there without the proper instruction. Fuck the dentist. Now I'm gonna have to go whole whole new week without nicotine or alcohol. That's a fate worse than hell.

Here's another thing I'm mad about. Jersey City, where I live, had some sort of race today. It must have been at least a half-marathon. Maybe even a full marathon. Either way, the whole city of Jersey City just shuts down so a couple thousand people can run a race. Jersey City was gridlock all day. Cars where backed up all the way to the tunnel. Is a race that nobody cares about really worth shutting town an entire city? That's fucking insane. Unless you're the Boston Marathon, you shouldn't be able to shut down all the major roads and make it so nobody is able to drive anywhere. That's such bullshit.
