The Truth About The John Calipari Dilemma And All The Rumors Of His Job
Here we go, it's officially John Calipari fire watch. It's really just the John Calipari dilemma because ... who the fuck do you hire? There's basically 4 names or so that are out there:
1. You make Jay Wright say no
2. You make Dan Hurley say no (he will, just do it)
3. Scott Drew
4. Your pick - mine is Sean Miller.
The fact is you can't keep going on with John Calipari. It's the marriage that everyone knows is going to fail. They get married too young, someone cheated on the other person early in the relationship and it's just not talked about or you just know this is two people settling. They play nice, they have the cookie cutter house, but you know it's coming. That's Kentucky and John Calipari. They need a divorce.
That's right, I'm saying it again. It's time for Kentucky to fire John Calipari. Words I never thought I'd say. It's just time to move on because he sucks as an in-game coach and you can't keep losing to St. Peter's and Oakland. The same reason Tubby Smith got run out of town. That's where it's time to move on.
The scary part? Mitch Barnhart is a garbage AD. He's fucked up before, he fucked up this situation already. He gave Calipari this deal and now has to find a way out of it. Barnhart should be fired the moment the John Calipari decision is made. He can't make another coaching hire. I don't trust it one bit.
You can't look at what Calipari has done and say this is good enough. He was fucking awesome from when he was hired until - I don't know- the Luke Maye buzzer beater? Maybe the collapse against Auburn in the 2019 Elite Eight. He has broken brain syndrome ever since. He can't stop playing bigs, he refuses to let his best players out there, he refuses to trust the guards.
All I know is a decision needs to be made. Now. Not before Monday, now. Preferably it's him gone and figuring out life after. We'll always have 2012. We'll have some other memories. But it's time to move on.
