Khabib's Son Recently Asked Him If He Could Fight "Like Islam Makhachev"

What a question from Khabib's son. "Dad, can you fight like Islam Makhachev?"

Uhhh yeah son. I think I can do one or two things he can.

This would be like asking Led Zeppelin if they could make music like Greta Van Fleet. Or like asking Scorsese if he could make a movie like 'Joker'. That's not to downplay the skill of Islam Makhachev, or imply he's the MMA fighter equivalent of 'Joker' - but let's be honest, his entire fighting style is based on the teachings of Khabib Nurmagomedov and his father Abdulmanap.

Of course Khabib could fight like him - he practically taught him everything he knows! Take this clip as the perfect example….

I do wonder if Khabib's kids getting a little older could give him the itch to fight again. I know it's apples to oranges, but Goldberg was convinced to do one final WWE run because he wanted to wrestle in front of his son. What if Khabib feels the urge to compete in front of HIS kids in a few years?! One of them certainly sounds interested in that whole world already….

"My son is starting to ask me a lot of questions because when I retired, he was only three years old, and he didn't understand anything. A couple of weeks ago, he asked me, 'Dad, can you fight like Islam Makhachev?'

I was like, 'Why do you ask?' and he said, 'Because I've never seen you fight like him.' When I left, he was just a kid, but now he's starting to ask me everything, and so far, I don't know what to do.”

Khabib also said he doesn't want his kids to become professional athletes, but if it happens, it happens.

Imagine his son against Conor McGregor Jr in 20 years? Conor and Khabib working corners like Rocky/Drago in CREED II?! That would be fucking awesome.

Oh, and speaking of McGregor - I'll hopefully get a moment with him next week on the red carpet of the ROAD HOUSE NYC premiere. Excited to reunite with the Champ Champ.
