Yesterday Was The Perfect Reminder That Jon Scheyer Has Always Been A Hatable Duke Asshole And We're All Finally Remembering It

We saw what happened yesterday. Between the dirty play by Kyle Filipowski and his recently repaired leg from a hellacious court storming injury to drinks being tossed, Scheyer apologizing to fans and all around douchebaggery we've come to know from Duke, the world is finally remembering what's always been true. Jon Scheyer has always been a hatable Duke asshole. We just forgot about it because he was overshadowed by K, Grayson and was right after JJ Redick. This is the guy we always somehow forgot

You can hear the flop.

And sure, no one can replace K as being the ultimate smug asshole at Duke, but look at Scheyer yesterday. This was peak reason number 1 the world comes together and hates this program. HE APOLOGIZED TO FANS FOR LOSING AS THEY THREW SHIT ALL OVER THE PLACE. What are we doing here? At what point did Scheyer think, this is a good idea. Let me shake their hands and apologize to these dorks in the stands. Then it hit me. He's finally the face of the program, the main asshole if you will. It's why he had that whole speech about court storms and then did this. It's what college basketball needs. Duke is supposed to be the villain because they do shit like this and act like it's normal.

Frankly, it just feels good to hate Duke with every fiber of my being again. Not to say I ever let up, but I was worried when K left. Would I really be able to hate the program the same way without him staring into my soul ready to walk into my office and talk about how I'm better than that? The answer is yes, it just took some time. It took us nearly 2 years for Scheyer to embrace what he always was. It took nearly 2 years for the rest of the world to remember it all. The world finally feels right again.
