Curtis Blaydes Upsets Jailton Almedia With 500 Hammerfists To The Dome

Gotta love a big heavyweight knockout - especially when it's an upset! 

Curtis Blaydes has made a habit of proving the oddsmakers wrong in his career, and did so via excessive hammerfists against Jailton Almeida tonight at UFC 299. It was a great Travis Browne-Josh Barnett type finish, and cements his spot as one of the top contenders for the title - probably the Interim title, though. Tom Aspinall may fight Blaydes, and got the call-out - but the winner of Jones/Stipe (whenever that happens) probably ain't gonna fight Blaydes. It's not Blaydes' fault, it's just how that cookie crumbles.

The UFC 299 main card starts now, and if you're on the fence about buying the PPV - I'd encourage you to do so. It'll be worth it for the main/co-main alone.
