AMC Theaters Praises Taylor Swift And Beyonce For Bringing In "Literally All" Of Their Fourth Quarter Revenue Last Year
AMC Entertainment is giving Taylor Swift and Beyoncé a standing ovation ... the theater chain says their concert movies are behind "literally all" of its revenue to close 2023.
AMC just reported quarterly earnings to Wall Street, and the nationwide chain says Bey and Tay Tay helped boost their financials big time.
On the strength of "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" and "Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé," AMC raked in $1.1 billion in fourth-quarter revenue.
Ah, another record to stack on top of the ones already broken. Congratulations to both Taylor and Beyonce for not only being the most popular performers of the year, but for being smart enough businesswomen to seize an opportunity to give fans what they want, and make a billion dollars in the process.
Everyone I know saw both of these concert films. Not only were they fantastic purely from a "show" point of view, they added a completely new experience to the theater. People were encouraged to dance, sing, dress up and have a good time with family and friends. AMC knew what kind of joy these two films were going to bring to the audience, and the did everything they could not to shy away from it.
Another thing I'm sure people don't want to admit, but I think these two have changed the concert/movie landscape for the future. At this point, why won't every artist put out a concert movie? Anyone going on tour should be taking notes, no matter how famous you are. You may not single handedly make AMC a billion dollars, but its certainly a surefire way to connect with your diehard fans and show people what you're all about. I'm looking at YOU, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo, Coldplay and Adele.
