The Troops Are In Perfectly Saucy Hands With Jacob Morin Leading The Way

Nothing screams that lacrosse season is fully underway than Army vs Syracuse. A late February game in the Dome between a couple of Upstate's finest. Does it get any better than that? Not a damn chance.

Especially not when Army is bringing weapons like Jacob Morin to the party.

We can talk until we're blue in the face about all the skill that Syracuse has on their roster offensively. Just some of the craftiest, flashiest, absolute nastiest ball players in America. Syracuse plays a brand of offense that's just "fuck it, we ball". There never seems to be any scheme or plan, it's just trusting the boys to do something crazy enough where the ball ends up in the back of the net. Army is naturally a little more buttoned up and strategic out there. But there ain't no strategy to replicate this.

Thank you for your service.

We haven't seen a toe drag that ruthless since Mark Matthews was running around in Denver. This was just a dream scenario to break out one of the most violent toeys of the season. The slide was a little late so you had the Cuse defenseman really having to haul ass to get out there. You see Jacob Morin wind up and you figure the best move you can make in that situation is to dive at him and hope to catch enough of his stick to slow down that cannon of a shot.

Ill-advised, to say the least.

Jacob Morin is a weapon of mass destruction to ankles everywhere. And speaking of weapons, let's talk more about that cannon shot.

You don't have to aim for corners when you can just blow it right past the goalie's stick like that. A lacrosse net is 6' x 6', and the entirety of the 36 sq ft is wide open for Jacob Morin whenever he wants it.

He gave Army the lead in the 4th quarter, but Syracuse eventually tied the game. To overtime we go, and that's where Jackson Eicher put the troops to continue their occupation of the Dome over the last few years.

What a game. What a win for the Troops. I can feel this team playing on Memorial Day. I can feel it down in my plums. It's been way too long since we've had a service academy at championship weekend. That changes this May. This team is skilled, disciplined, and dangerous.
