Shout out to @lennyduece for the suggestion on this one. I mentioned online how I was reading The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and he said if I was interested in Toltec teachings and wisdom I should look into who they were as a civilization and people.

The Toltecs were a civilization and culture that thrived in Mesoamerica, particularly in what is now central Mexico, during the Early Postclassic period (approximately 900 to 1168 CE). They are often considered one of the most influential pre-Columbian civilizations in the region. The Toltec civilization is known for its significant contributions to art, architecture, religion, philosophy, and warfare.

According to Wikipedia, here are some key points about the Toltecs:

  1. Origins: The origins of the Toltec civilization are shrouded in myth and legend. According to Toltec mythology, their legendary capital city was Tollan (Tula in Nahuatl), located near present-day Tula de Allende in the Mexican state of Hidalgo.

  • Influence: The Toltecs exerted considerable influence over Mesoamerica, particularly during the Early Postclassic period. They are believed to have had a significant impact on later civilizations, including the Aztecs.

  • Art and Architecture: Toltec art and architecture are characterized by their intricate carvings, sculptures, and architectural structures. They are known for their use of stone and stucco, as well as their distinctive architectural styles, such as the use of columns carved in the shape of warriors known as "atlantes." They were incredible architects and builders.

    1. Religion and Mythology: The Toltecs had a complex religious system that included the worship of various deities, as well as rituals and ceremonies. Their mythology included stories of gods and heroes, as well as creation myths and legends.

    2. Warfare: The Toltecs were skilled warriors and engaged in warfare with neighboring peoples. They are often associated with military prowess and conquest, although the extent of their military activities and influence is debated among scholars.

    3. Decline: The exact reasons for the decline of the Toltec civilization are not entirely clear. Some theories suggest that internal conflicts, environmental factors, or external invasions may have contributed to their downfall.

Keep the suggestions coming. Keep them classy. No butt stuff.
