Wagner's Baseball Game vs. Texas A&M Was Delayed Because a Player Got Locked in the Bathroom
There are plenty of things you see in college baseball that you just don't get at the big league level. Games shortened because the road team has to get on the bus to get back for class on Monday morning, teams scoring 33 runs against some poor America East school and, apparently, games being delayed because a player got locked in the bathroom.
That's what happened in the sixth inning of Wagner's series finale against Texas A&M on Sunday, when the game was delayed 10 minutes because a Seahawks outfielder was stuck in a Blue Bell Park bathroom. That's a first for me.
The stadium staff at A&M was able to get the player out and resume the game, but how long would they have had to try getting the door open before they finally just forced Wagner to replace him and keep the game going? After 20 minutes or so, you gotta put somebody else out there, I'd imagine. Brutal blow for the fourth outfielder who thought he was going to see some action against an SEC team. Hell, that could be who locked the bathroom door.
Wagner was swept by A&M to bring their record to 0-6 on the season, but at least everyone was able to make it out of Blue Bell Park.
