Great Moments Are Born From Great Opportunity, And Usher Made Sure To Take His During The Halftime Show

No, this blog isn't going to be about Usher taking the opportunity to get his hands all over a married Alicia Keys. Far be it from me to judge how anyone else lives their life. If Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are all for it, then let them live. Some folks are into shit like that.

But no. This is going to be about Usher seeing the opportunity to show the world that he can bust it down in a pair of roller skates and taking full advantage of the fact.

This year's Super Bowl was set to make another ratings record. Last year's Super Bowl set the record with just over 115 million viewers. This year's could have put up even bigger numbers than that. Imagine having 115 million people all tune in to watch you, and you decide to throw on a pair of skates.

Take one stumble and you're a meme forever. Don't absolutely crush it, and everyone thinks it's the lamest shit they've ever seen. You have one opportunity to skate in front of the world, and you need to make the most out of it. Usher did just that. Man was moving out there smoother than melted butter.

Admittedly I'm more of a rollerblader than a roller skater. Blades might be a little more difficult to balance on, but I feel like skates are more difficult to control. Maybe that's just because I'm more comfortable on blades, but that's not the point. Moral of the story here is that there are so many ways this could have ended poorly, but Usher may have just single-handedly brought back roller skating. Name another Super Bowl halftime performance that completely resurrected a hobby like that.

And yes. He also took full advantage to get his hands all over Alicia Keys. Hard to blame the guy. Popped off the top, too. The man was dripping pure sex out there, and there's nothing anyone could do to stop him.

And I bet he even knew the new rules for playoff overtime this year.
