World's Dumbest Drug Dealer Arrested for Handing Out Free Cocaine Business Cards with His Name and Contact Information

Calgary Herald - A man is facing a half-dozen charges after an apparent bid to boost his drug dealing business by handing out “free samples” of cocaine at a local casino caught the attention of Calgary police.

Police say officers patrolling a downtown casino on Christmas Eve last year became aware of a card that had been handed out to casino-goers. The cards included the name “Alex Lee” and had a small baggie of suspected cocaine attached.

Investigators tracked down the suspect via his Alex Lee alias throughout January, gathering evidence and eventually identifying his vehicle.

On Saturday, police pulled over a 2020 Toyota Tundra, arresting the driver. Officers searched the truck as well as a home on Beaconsfield Place N.W., seizing almost 60 grams of cocaine portioned into individual packages, a digital scale, $1,280 in cash, and the Alex Lee business cards.

Seyyed Amir Razavi, 30, is charged with two counts of drug trafficking, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Where was this good samaritan back in my cocaine buying days? The amount of trouble I've gone through texting everyone in my phone, waiting in apartment parking lots for hours on end, getting overly paranoid every time I saw a cop in the distance, only to get ripped off and sold a bag of 80% baking powder in the end. Not one time did I stumble upon a friendly business card sample wielding cocaine merchant offering me a taste of his product like a small women standing outside of a Chinese restaurant in the mall. But that's the type of drug dealing service you get in Canada. I suppose the market for cocaine in Bowling Green, Ohio wasn't competitive enough for that.

I was laughing to myself when I first read this, because I had thought this drug dealer was using his real name. However, the "Alex Lee" moniker he was promoting on his cocaine business card was simply an alias. Not that it prevented the police from immediately tracking him down and arresting him in his own home. I'd like to know how long this man had been implementing this strategy. Has he been carrying around business cards for years? Or was this a new money-making endeavor for him?

As ill-advised as the strategy is, I tip my cap to this drug dealer. A lot of dealers half-ass their craft. They ignore their phone, make people drive to them, force their customers to come inside and play a round of Mario Kart every time they buy a sack because they're such lonely people. But not Alex Lee. Alex Lee is a businessman first and foremost. He was boots on the ground bringing his cocaine to the people. He wasn't only in it to make money, he wanted to provide exceptional drug dealing service to the good people of Calgary. It's a shame one of the good ones has been taken off the street.
