Patrick Mahomes' Dad Is Facing 2 to 10 Years in Prison After Being Arrested for His 3rd DWI

Pro Football Talk - Patrick Mahomes Sr., a former Major League Baseball player and the father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Saturday in Texas.

It was the third DUI arrest for Mahomes Sr.

Via Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star, the arrest happened on Saturday in Tyler, Texas.

The second charge occurred in 2018. Mahomes Sr. pleaded guilty. He received a sentence of 40 days; he served the time on weekends from February 2019 through February 2020.

In this case, no one was injured. However, under Texas law, Mahomes Sr. faces two to 10 years in prison, given that it would be his third DUI offense.

The Mahomes family is sneaky becoming one of the more distracting sports families in the game. Jackson Mahomes, although he was able to skirt the charges, was arrested for sexual assault just a year ago. Now a week before Super Bowl LVII (57) Patrick Mahomes dad catches a 3rd drunk driving charge. A charge which apparently could send him to prison for 2 to 10 years. Also, his wife is kind of annoying. What drama.

Thankfully for Pat Mahomes Sr., his son has unlimited money for lawyers. I have to imagine there's some highfalutin (sp?) Texas attorney with a Stetson cowboy hat, designer boots, and dual revolvers holstered to his hips that will be able to talk Mr. Mahomes' way out of a prison sentence. And if that's not enough, they can simply have pop sensation Taylor Swift take the stand as a character witness. Even in Texas I think she'd have some pull. Speaking of which, has anybody been able to get a hold of Taylor Swift yet? I'm not sure if I can properly give a take on the situation until I know the exact opinion of Patrick Mahomes best tight end's pop star girlfriend.

But to address the question we all want answers to, I must ask. How does Patrick Mahomes dad facing prison time affect his play in the Super Bowl. Does the smart money move from the Chiefs to the 49ers? We're currently looking down the barrel of Chiefs +2. Which if you're a dumb gambler like myself, that means if you're betting the Chiefs you're taking them money line. Obviously I can't give any real insight as to how will affect the line. It probably won't at all.
