'Needs To Do A Little More Film Study' - Baker Mayfield Wasted No Time Responding To C.J. Gardner-Johnson Claiming The Bucs Need A Good QB

Yeah, this checks out. It was only a matter of time before we got our first shit talking battle and of course it involves Baker Mayfield. The man lives to talk a little shit and play football. It's honestly the perfect response. Russell Gage out here being talked about and he hasn't played a snap this year. Get your facts right, CJ!

This is a dangerous, dangerous game, especially with the Lions defense. They aren't, uh, great, especially in the backfield. Now you're giving Baker ammo and that's a guy who waited a year to plant a flag in Ohio State's field. Why you'd ever give a quarterback ammo is beyond me. That's the one guy you can't fire up and I don't care if you think Baker is top-15 or whatever. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy shit talking, but I also want to see the Lions win. This is step 1 to a loss.

Now, sure, CJ Gardner-Johnson openly admitted he doesn't watch football:

Here's the one thing I'll say when it comes to shit talking, you gotta have your facts right. Go all-in but make sure you aren't getting something wrong otherwise it turns into this. I think Baker is fine as a quarterback, not great, not bad. That's just who he is. But he's arguably the last guy I'd want to piss off with something like this. You can't say they need a good quarterback when they also can't run. Also doesn't help when he just threw all over the Eagles, which, yeah it's still the playoffs so it counts.

I know it feels like everyone wants the Lions, we're all on the bandwagon. But this game needed some juice besides let's see what Dan Campbell does this time. We now have that and that's awesome for someone who has no sweat in the game. Now we just need Gardner-Johnson to get a pick or Baker to throw a couple touchdowns, either one works because both are crazy enough to celebrate directly in the other's face.
