Redemption: Lions Fans Surrounded Jared Goff's Car Leaving Ford Field To Anoint Him 'The King Of Detroit'
We know the story, but hell, it's been 32 years. This is how Lions fans should be treating Jared Goff. We know what happened in LA. Dude was the No. 1 pick, made a Super Bowl and Sean McVay basically said he can't win with him and wanted Stafford. It's truly one of the rare times where a trade works out for everyone. Stafford and McVay got a Super Bowl title and Goff didn't just save his career, he became the king of Detroit - their words.
I'm also aware how outrageous it seems to be doing this after one playoff win while you're the No. 3 seed and were favored by 3. But again, see the 32 years. Shit, not even the 32 years, the Lions were the lovable losers. They were the franchise everyone could point to and say well at least we got it better than them. They had the 0 win season, they had Orlovsky run out of the end zone. The jokes were almost too easy to make that it became lame. Then a coaching threatening to bite kneecaps and this man came along. You don't think he realizes how good he's got it now? This wave is regal as fuck.
I'm not one to talk Royal Family but Meghan Markle could learn a thing or two from the LA move and winning over a crowd, especially from another good looking person. That's right, we all can say Jared Goff is good looking. How else do you become King of Detroit with Christen Harper sitting there with you?
It's fitting that we're getting Goff vs Mayfield in the playoffs too. Actually, the whole NFC just shows you how weird the NFL draft is. You have two former No. 1 picks who were basically exiled from their previous teams getting some revenge in one game and Mr. Irrelevant favored by 10 points in the other. Sure. Just another example of how the Draft is a complete crapshoot and good luck figuring out if a pick is a success - you know, like Jordan Love going in the first round.
Now there's one thing left to do. Go fucking win it all.
