The Buccaneers Have Retired The Brotherly Shove Hopefully Forever

The Eagles tush pushed/Brotherly Shoved there way all season long. It was their right. Roger Goodell didn't take action and ban this silly play in the off-season and they used that to their advantage converting seemingly every single 3rd and 4th & 1 for the past couple seasons.

But in the 3rd Quarter after an offsides on an extra point, Eagles current (at time of press) Head Coach Nick Sirianni elected to take the point off the board and go for two from the 1-yard line. They of course went for the Brotherly Shove but this time IT DIDN'T WORK! Did Todd Bowles and the Buccaneers figure it out? They stopped it once during the regular season in their matchup with the Eagles, but now they stopped it again in what has become the Eagles last game of their season.

Now you've got the anchor of the Brotherly Shove, Jason Kelce weeping as he leaves the field in what's likely his last game.

Lane Johnson may be gone. Nick Sirianni and Offensive Coordinator Brian Johnson may be gone. And with any hope, hopefully the tush push, a dangerous play that involves an offensive player pushing another player forward inside the tackle box, will be gone too.
