'It Was Always Detroit' - Christen Harper Delivered One Final Blow To The Rams As Jared Goff Became A Legend For The Lions

It was always Detroit. Fire up the t-shirt machine. I mean if Dan Campbell says this it's 100% going to be used for the rest of the time he's head coach of the Lions. It's a simple, perfect line with an ode to a certain man from Jersey.

Jared Goff said all the right things yesterday. It was the team, it wasn't him vs Stafford or him vs McVay, whatever else he wanted to say. But it was. He was traded basically as a throw-in for Sean McVay to get a quarterback who he thought could bring him a Super Bowl. Stafford did that and Goff turned around his career in Detroit.

Hell, think about his first win in Detroit. It wasn't that long ago:

Now the Lions are hosting another playoff game and have a legit chance to play in the NFC title game. But really this is more than just that. This shows you how a QB1 should be living life. I saw somewhere today is the anniversary of Varsity Blues coming out. You don't think Mox embraced QB1 status? Obligatory

Now we have Jared Goff and Christen Harper overtaking Detroit. A city who never saw a football team win. A city who was ready to give up on the Lions. Then a man came in talking about biting kneecaps and a quarterback who could pull this outfit off saved them all.

Again, Campbell put the ball in his hands with the game on the line. One first down and it's all over. All Goff did was throw a perfect pass to St. Brown and beat the team who gave up on him. It was always Detroit.
