Fitting End To The Jets Season - Breece Hall Missed Out On A 1,000 Yards Rushing Because 'One Of Their Mathematicians Was Wrong On The Sideline'

I'm by no means what you call a genius. I'm far from a mathematician, in fact algebra and geometry can get the fuck out of here. Letters don't belong in math, that's just my theory. But I can promise you that I'd 100% be right about total yardage my running back has when you're trying to get to 1,000 yards. In fact I could do it with ease. You see you don't need to be a mathematician to go into the game and say 'Breece Hall needs 184 yards to get to 1,000. From there it, you know, is pretty simple.

This begs the question, how many mathematicians do the Jets have on staff? Saleh said one of them got it wrong, so clearly there's more than one. You're telling me someone couldn't have figured that out? This feels like it should be question 1 to getting a job as a football mathematician. Can you figure out the number a player needs to hit a goal? We all took the SATs or ACTs. We know how absurd and stupid some of those questions were. Now we're talking about a pro football franchise here not being able to do simple math.

Fitting for it to be the Jets though and how this season ended. Breece Hall is for sure good. He's one of the bright spots on the team. But even he couldn't get to 1,000 yards because of a coaching error. Think about the Jets year. All the hype, Hard Knocks, the Aaron Rodgers fantasy lineup. Then it turned into Zach Wilson and Trevor Siemian. Now this. Hilarious to throw some math nerd under the bus too. Could have easily said, we tried to get him to 1,000 yards. He had 178 in the game. Not bad! Nope. Just like the good old days of a football guy shoving a math kid into the locker like every comedy we saw growing up.

People say all the time how NFL coaching staffs should just have a Madden player on staff to help them with clock management and when to go for it. This is where they need to get rid of any nerds who are mathematicians and have fantasy players/gamblers. We can do math! You start talking about needing to get to a certain number and buddy, that's just us counting how many points we need for an over to hit. Clearly there's a perfect man for the job here.

What a year for the Jets man.
