WILD VIDEO: Entire Window of Alaska Airlines Plane Blows Out Mid-Flight, Makes Emergency Landing, Somehow Nobody Dies

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - An Alaska Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Portland International Airport on Friday night after a large section of the aircraft blew out in mid-air, according to several passengers.

Dramatic photos sent to us by one passenger on the plane, who wished to remain anonymous, show a large section of the airplane’s fuselage missing.

At 7:26 p.m. (PST) Alaska Airlines posted on X/Twitter that they were “aware of an incident” aboard their flight AS1282 and said they would release more information as it becomes available. Alaska confirmed to KPTV via email that 174 passengers and 6 crew members were aboard the flight.

The flight was headed from PDX to Ontario, California. It departed Portland at 4:40 p.m. and was back on the ground in Portland around 5:30 p.m.

This would never happen on Spirit Airlines. You might leave Spirit with a bloody nose if you rub up against the heavy-set woman in the seat next to you one too many times. But mark my words. An ENTIRE WINDOW will NEVER be stripped off a Spirit Airlines flight. Add Alaska Airlines to the long list of airlines that are worse than Spirit.

I do not understand how nobody is dead. Even with nobody sitting in the seat next to the window (which is so insanely lucky it almost makes me believe in god). I honestly thought if a whole ass section of a plane wall popped off mid flight, everybody would be dead. I thought the pressurization coupled with the lack of oxygen at that altitude would have at least taken somebody. Huge shoutout to the pilot for landing that safely. He's the biggest hero in aviation since Sully Sullenberger hit a bird and landed in the Hudson River.

But I must say, that would have been a hell of a way to die. I've always thought (in a very non-suicidal way) that dying in a plane crash would be a great way to go. I tell myself that every flight I take as a way of calming myself down. I still get a little nervous on planes. Before every flight I come to terms with my own mortality. I think, "It's ok John. If you die right now, you'll forever be a legend. Nobody will ever be able to say bad things about you. It'll just be a terrible tragedy and maybe Big Cat will come to your funeral." That always makes me feel better during heavy turbulence.

Thank god nobody is hurt, so I can freely say how hilarious this is. I mean look at this picture.

That looks like something from a Fast & Furious set. Life if they're filming a scene where Vin Diesel dives out of a plane and lands safely in the drivers seat of a Lamborghini. They said the suction from the plane cause a child's entire shirt to be ripped off his body, which is something that I was certain only happened in cartoons. How chilly he must have been.

One child's shirt coming off leads to be believe other's shirts almost came off. Which leads me to believe boobs were flopping everywhere. Which is pretty funny. All sorts of items, including phones, were being sucked out of the window. Some poor man probably lost his hairpiece. Baby screaming. Everyone praying. Me running to the drink cart to chug all the mini-bottles of liquor so I can at least die with a nice buzz.. It's a scene straight out of a movie as Dave Portnoy would say.

I'm very excited to see what Alaska Airlines does for the passengers of this flight. I'm always on the lookout for civilians getting paid. They've got to have some sort of lawsuit on their hands. I'm sure Alaska Airlines will try to give them nothing more than $50 off their next flight and a coupon for a free drink. But they can't get away with that. When you lose an entire panel of your plane mid flight, you should have to pay up. Some of those passengers are scarred for life. They may never be able to fly comfortably again. I may never be able to fly comfortably again now that I know this is a real-life possibility. But it probably won't happen to you or me, right?
