Marvel Rumors - Steven Yeun Allegedly Drops Out Of 'Thunderbolts', Colman Domingo May Be IN as Kang The Conqueror?!

Got a quick Marvel rumor roundup for ya today!

Allegedly, Steven Yeun has dropped out of (again, allegedly) playing Sentry in the upcoming 'Thunderbolts' movie from Marvel Studios.

The Thunderbolts are kind of a Suicide Squad-like team made up of Marvel heroes, anti-heroes, and villains.

I don't think it was ever even confirmed that he would be playing Sentry officially, but Yeun's friend/co-collaborator Robert Kirkman spilled the beans during a live interview back in November after it had been heavily rumored online….

They apparently joked that Yeun only plays comic book characters who wear blue/yellow as Yeun is the voice of Invincible, which Kirkman created.

This rumor also comes via the moderators of the r/DCULeaks subreddit, so I'd take it with a grain of salt….

….but frequent leaker/scooper DanielRPK had a vague tweet of just :( after this rumor dropped, which a lot of people took to be some sorta confirmation that it's true….

I don't like reading into vague shit like that too much, because who knows if that tweet was even related to the Steven Yeun rumors - but IF this is true, it's a huge bummer.

Steven Yeun is an incredible actor who could totally bring a new energy to the MCU - especially in a weird/fun movie like the Thunderbolts….in a massive role like Sentry. I've really been enjoying watching his career unfold post-Walking Dead (NOPE, Minari, BEEF are all great roles for Yeun) and always root for his success in real life because Glenn was my guy in that show.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead: I literally stopped watching once Glenn got killed. That was it for me. RIP Glenn.

In a perfect world, I think Marvel wants the Thunderbolts to become their next 'Guardians of the Galaxy' - a wacky pack of characters on a non-Avengers team that everyone falls in love with - but they REAAAALLY just need to focus on making sure this movie is good, above all else - and I think they know that.

Hell, look at these comments from 'Thunderbolts' star Wyatt Russell….

They know this one has to hit. They have to.

In much better news, that leaker I told you about before (DanielRPK) is reporting that Colman Domingo is among the options Marvel is considering to take over the role of Kang the Conqueror….

I don't know Colman from a whole lot, but I do know him from 'Euphoria', where he plays Ali - a character who pops in/out of Zendaya's life throughout the series - and he is phenomenal in that role. They once did an entire episode just focused on a single conversation between him and Zendaya, with the two of them simply sitting at a diner and talking to one another, and it was as captivating as anything I've watched on TV in years.

He's been in a lot of other things, as well, such as Fear The Walking Dead, Lincoln, 42, and Selma.

Colman Domingo knows how to command the screen and make dialogue feel like it carries real weight - and that's exactly what Marvel needs for a Kang recast. I hadn't even considered him before, but he's absolutely who I want in that role now.

I hope this rumor is true as much as I hope the Steven Yeun one is false.
