NBC Has Officially Activated The Plan To Save Olympics Coverage - Snoop Dogg Will Be Boots On The Ground As A Prime-Time Reporter This Year
[Source] - Mike Tirico will have an unusual new partner for NBCUniversal’s looming coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Rapper and actor Snoop Dogg will be on hand during the event to provide regular reports for NBC’s primetime Olympics program, starting July 26 of next year on both the broadcast network and the Peacock streaming hub. Snoop Dogg is slated to offer his unique take on what’s happening at the athletic extravaganza and will be seen exploring landmarks as well as holding forth with various competitors.
Oh hell yeah. I almost forgot for a second that 2024 was an Olympic year. Usually by this time it feels like we have way more stories about the shit show of the city hosting the Olympics or whatever else it might be. But now we're getting Snoop Doggs as a boots on the ground reporter? Sign me up. I love the Olympics, especially the summer one. I won't apologize for liking international basketball, not now, not ever. Throw in swimming, track and field, handball, soccer and everything else and summer Olympics are just awesome.
But there's always been something weird with the coverage. That's especially true now with all the different channels and trying to figure out what's live when there's a time difference and what's going on. Luckily our fears have been resolved thanks to Snoop Dogg providing updates and exploring landmarks in Paris. First time we'll all get to hear about the Eiffel Tower.
Like they said though, this isn't the first go around at the Olympics for Snoop.
I love the thought of him and Tirico chopping it up, but it feels like a let down we didn't get him and pink-eyed Bob Costas. You know Snoop would have said something. It would have been a million times better, unless Snoop works in an Italian line or two with Tirico. Gotta give credit though for this year. We got Snoop Dogg and Aileen Hnatiuk over in Paris
Now we just need USA basketball to send our true A-team and we got ourselves a damn good start to the Olympics. That or just send all of our best stars for coverage. Set the tone in the booth and see how other countries respond to it. They won't know how to act and that feels like advantage USA.
