How Sports Should Be: Nebraska Kicked Kansas State's Ass, Then Spent Their Celebration Ruthlessly Mocking Jerome Tang's Dancing
I know it's weird to see a Nebraska basketball blog here, but gotta give credit where it's due. They won at Kansas State, in fact they kicked Kansas State's ass. Many are saying there's a Bosco curse after this weekend:
Again, just to confirm that Kansas State and Alabama both lost. I'm not saying there's a Bosco curse, just reporting facts that people are putting it in the universe. At ease, Ryders. Anyways, back to the locker room celebration. I love it. Mock the shit out of a team when you win, it's what sports are supposed to be about. Everyone knows Jerome Tang dances in the locker room
You know how I know this mocking worked? Everywhere on Twitter when people are talking about this Kansas State fans are losing their minds. Talking about how Nebraska doesn't have a NCAA Tournament win, this is the high point of their season, etc. That's when you hit a nerve. It's also what sports is supposed to be. You win, you celebrate. I'm all for shit talking and mocking people after a win. Sports are supposed to be fun and filled with that. We're talking about a goddamn game here.
I just can't believe we saw Fred Hoiberg dance. Maybe he truly misses Iowa State. There's something about beating Kansas State for him that still hits at home. Warms my heart to see Hoiberg break out every suburban dad's go-to dance move though. Mocking? For sure. But he nailed it. Adding that one to my next wedding dance. The spin with the clap was a nice touch. That's adding flair when you need to.
Oh and 'tangible momentum' was a nice touch to the tweet. Well done, that's all you can do here.
