Wait, Can Kyle McCord Lead Syracuse To The College Football Playoff Next Year....?

Okay so Hubbs blogged yesterday that Kyle McCord announced his transfer to Syracuse, and at first I was like, uhhhhh okay Kyle? I already think he's kind of a huge pussy for leaving Ohio State, especially when it looks like the Buckeyes currently have no other plan than the guys in their quarterback room, in which he was the starter. And this commitment to play for a middle-low tier football school in the ACC when everyone else is trying to leave it pretty much confirms the rumor out of Columbus that it was always 100% about Kyle's dad wanting him a guaranteed starting spot and NIL money. Soft move all around. Running from a perennial playoff contender, where you're 12-1 as a starter, to hopefully make a Bowl Game each year is weak.

But then I saw this, and speaking of weak, here is Syracuse's football schedule for next season:

Holy shit. That has to be, hands down without question, the worst Power 5 football schedule in the history of the sport. How do they avoid all three of Florida State, Clemson, AND North Carolina in the same season? I mean, those are 3 of the team's 6 losses this year right there! And then with a non-conference first four game schedule of Ohio, Army, Holy Cross, and UCONN…..it's not out of the question to think this team could go 11-1 or run the table.

I mean, I'm not saying Kyle McCord is the best QB in college football, but he was a 5-star recruit and a 4-star transfer QB that has played in the biggest of games and gone 12-1 as a starter. And now he's taking over a Bowl Eligible team and has the equivalent of an average high school football schedule to play next year. Point being, this team is going to start out 4-0 and they'll look down at the rest of the schedule and see that @ NC State is their toughest remaining test. And 12 teams make the playoff next season. It COULD happen.

Question: do we think Kyle McCord (and his dad) took this into consideration when they chose Syracuse? Or did they simply run two intersecting lines of schools that would guarantee him a starting spot with their NIL $ and Status of Program? And the first two to touch was Syracuse. Either way, Syracuse needs to find a way to scrap a few crumbs together and bring in a few more players because they now have a QB and a schedule that will absolutely get them into playoff discussions if they can beat…..NC State and Boston College.

**If this sport is scripted whatsoever, Kyle McCord and his new Syracuse team finds themselves in Columbus, Ohio for Round 1 of the playoff next season.
