In-N-Out Opened Their First Idaho Location And The Drive-Thru Wait Was EIGHT HOURS Long
Yesterday I wrote a blog about Southwest Airlines being championed for their 'customers of size' seat policy that gives overweight passengers an extra seat for free:
Today I woke up and was scrolling my timeline and saw that the first In N' Out in Idaho opened yesterday and the wait time was EIGHT HOURS to get your hands on a Double Double or whatever they're called. I think we have our answer on how we got to this point. Listen, I'm not from the west coast, and maybe I just don't get the hype, but the general consensus under all the tweets about this is how it's an average to below average burger. I'm not Glenneth Balls and don't have a scale to judge them on, but the few times I've had it I couldn't imagine waiting more than fifteen minutes for it. And I'm not Ferdinand Magellan either, but I feel like you can probably drive to Nevada or California from Idaho quicker than waiting eight whole hours.
There's that joke about the European mind not being able to comprehend various American traditions, and this would fit perfectly into that narrative. Isn't Idaho the potato capital of the world? You're telling me they want to wait for a chain burger that bad? That had me thinking. What chains are worth waiting for? I did the liberty of ranking various fast food burger places I've tried:
