Everything About This Butler/Cal Ending Was So Gross, Devastating And Disgusting
I know bad beats can be overplayed, but this is a special one. You had Butler -8.5, look at the score. I know, you shouldn't complain about covering an 8.5 in double OT. But you still got there. You were at the number. It doesn't matter if it's in regulation or not, as long as the number is covered you are fine. You had it all covered because that happens. Until it didn't.
Dude from Cal out here snatching the ball and launching a three at the buzzer. Toes grossly close to the line for a 2. Everything about it was just why there's nothing like the highs and lows of this whole thing. You battle for 50 minutes, trying to will Butler to the 8.5 and have it end like this. The only thing that helps is Blue fucking rules.
Again, I get that Butler has no business covering a number like 8.5 in double OT, but to get there and have it end this way? Yeah, that's brutal. You can debate bad beat, I say yes even if you didn't deserve to get there. Welcome to college hoops.
