'I Wanted To Do Some Asshole Shit' - Ja'Marr Chase With A Perfectly Reasonable Explanation Of Why He Taunted The Jags Mid-Touchdown Run

Typically I'd want to make fun of the Bengals or something like this. But, Ja'Marr Chase just might be the best receiver in football, especially with Justin Jefferson hurt. So if Ja'Marr Chase claims he wants to do some asshole shit, be evil and taunt the Jags because they thought they could cover him man-to-man, you have to tip the cap.

I don't exactly know why Chase wanted to be an asshole, but it's on brand for an elite receiver. Name one elite receiver that hasn't done something along these lines. They take it personal when there's not all 11 defenders focused on them. Sure, the league is set up for receivers to have all the benefits, but that's besides the point. That's a Goodell problem.

I gotta know what really flipped the switch for Chase though. He claims he told Tee in the pregame he was going to do something like this. Not like the Jags/Bengals have some historical rivalry or anything like that. Chase just wanted to do some asshole shit, which I ask. Who among us hasn't felt that way? Taunting people, especially your pals, is the best. A little shit talking that you know will rile someone up. Chase needed to do more though. Thought he was going to go down at 1 when he started that last night. But break out the high step, back pedal, crawl, do something to really prove your point.
