The Half-Wit That Called Christmas Vacation 'Patently Unfunny' Should Have His Internet Privileges Permanently Revoked

I don't believe in censorship or government intervention in any way as it pertains to freedom of speech and expression, but this is the first take I've ever seen that was egregious enough to make me rethink that stance. I didn't know there were people out there who didn't like Christmas Vacation, much less any who would feel comfortable sharing such an opinion publicly. I believe sharing something so insane should result in a loss of social media privileges indefinitely.

I'm not even mad about how ridiculous this take is, I'm mad at how objectively incorrect it is. This is a movie made in 1989 and the reason it's still popular is because of how re-watchable and timeless it is. It's still incredibly funny.

Here is a list of quotes from Christmas Vacation that I use year-round:

— "Take a look around you, Ellen. We're at the threshold of Hell!"

— "Can't see the line, can you, Russ?"

— "... the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse."

— "Shitter was full."

— "If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised."

— "Merry Christmas. Kiss my ass. Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass. Happy Hanukkah."

— "I don't knowwww, Margot."

And that's just to name a few. There is a laugh-out-loud moment at least once every five minutes in that film.

I really hope this guy finds even just a little bit of the Christmas spirit he so clearly needs. Only a Scrooge — or dumbass — of epic proportions could find it possible to not enjoy Christmas Vacation and whichever one Paul is, I do not envy his situation.

Seek help, friend.
