In The Troll Move Of The Century, The Big House Used A Spy Plane As Part Of Their Flyover For The Michigan/Ohio State Game

This game just keeps getting better and better. I was fortunate to be in Ann Arbor for this year‘s Michigan/Ohio State game. It was definitely a bucket list item, and it was made all the better by the fact that Michigan ended up winning the game. I’ve already written about some of the incredible reactions and videos from this version of the rivalry. With Big Ten expansion being a thing next year, Michigan and Ohio State will always be a rivalry, but there was something about this one that felt like the end of an era, and I’m glad that Michigan came out on top.

Flyovers at football games and sporting events are universally cool. It’s like the most American thing in the world: patriotic, expensive, and pretty unnecessary. But you sacrifice the necessary to look cool. Michigan used a spy plane as their flyover plane for last Saturday’s game, and I’m choosing to believe it was intentional.

I’m aware that by definition, I’m technically rooting for the bad guys, but I really don’t care. 12-0 is 12-0, and the fact that this team just beat their biggest rival with an assistant coach is a legendary moment in this rivalry. I don’t know if this spyplane shit was intentional, it probably wasn’t. But these last few weeks of Michigan football have been so juicy and ripe with drama that this is just another excellent notch on the belt.

The only thing that would’ve made this thing sweeter is if Connor Stallions himself would’ve been flying in the damn thing. He was a little bit busy at a certain college football show (or was he?) There used to be a time in which Michigan not being able to make it to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship Game was a common joke that people used. Now, Michigan making it to Indy is a trend. This is a program that has officially reached the “we hate you, but dammit, we respect you” part of the journey. It’s all been worth it.
