Iowa Brought In Its BACKUP Kicker For The Game-Winning Field Goal Against Nebraska After Not Having An Attempt All Season

College football is a sport that provides more insane moments than any other, but I really don't know how many crazier things than this I've ever seen. Iowa switched kickers and brought in backup Marshall Meeder to kick the game-winner against Nebraska for his first field goal attempt of the year. You know, as one does.

This is exactly how Iowa's regular season had to end. Starting kicker Drew Stevens had two kicks blocked earlier in the game, but going to your backup kicker who hasn't tried a field goal all year in that spot is something I can't imagine many coaches would even consider. What a move by Kirk Ferentz.

The rest of the game was filled with typical Iowa shenanigans, as well, including both teams throwing interceptions in the final minute. God bless this team.

Ohio State or Michigan is likely going to do disgusting things to Iowa in the Big Ten Championship Game, but we will remember the 2023 Hawkeyes season forever. The four lowest totals in college football history belong to these guys and they managed to hit the under in every single one of them. This team was special.
