BREAKING NEWS: Dan Campbell Is NOT A Turkey Guy
I don't know if there's a human being in Michigan right now with a higher approval rating than Dan Campbell. The guy came into Detroit, talked a big game, and somehow found a way to back it up. The Detroit Lions are having their best regular season ever right now. That's subject to change, obviously, but they're in the driver's seat in the NFC North, and they're 8-2 for the first time in forever. This is a dream campaign, but it's time that we focus on the real issues. Thanksgiving is coming up, and Dan Campbell will not be eating turkey.
This is not THAT controversial of a take. He’s not one of those weirdos who does something like put mayonnaise on his turkey or some shit like that. I will fall in line here and say I’m in complete agreement with Dan Campbell. I don’t have a whole lot of turkey on Thanksgiving. I have turkey sporadically throughout the year, but honeybaked ham is where it’s at. We live in a progressive society, don’t we? Why do we have to stick with the socially acceptable norms of just eating turkey on Thanksgiving? Dan Campbell has always been one to mix it up. Ham on Thanksgiving is the equivalent of going forward on fourth and goal. It’s a little risky, but it’s worth it.
Do you know how crazy it is that things are so good for the Detroit Lions right now that we're focusing on whether or not Dan Campbell prefers turkey or ham on Thanksgiving? Usually, at this point this season, we're talking about what coach or GM candidates will be available this offseason as the Lions begin to rebuild number 67. Not this year. The fact that this is actually working is amazing to me. Just beat the Packers on Thanksgiving, and you can get all the fucking ham you want.
