Robert Pattinson Once Went 6 Months In Which His Only Piece Of Furniture Was An Inflatable Boat

If you had told me a decade ago that Robert Pattinson would still be relevant and one of the most well-respected, best actors currently working in Hollywood, I definitely wouldn’t have believed you. I know I will get backlash for using that statement, but people need to check themselves. Pattinson’s filmography over the last decade holds up with anybody’s. The guy is a powerhouse actor. He’s also kind of a weirdo. I mean that affectionately, of course. He goes on press junkets and says a lot of weird stuff. This is the guy who said that he would do porn if “The Batman” didn’t do well at the box office, and in a recent interview with architectural digest (I didn’t know that was a thing), Pattinson revealed that his number one asset in life for six months was an inflatable boat.

I really love how much Robert Pattinson doesn't like being famous. This guy once took a crazy fan out on a date just so he could tell her how much he hated being famous. I have to respect that grind. I think it's one of the big reasons why he's evolved into one of the best actors working. The guy did not want to go the movie star route, and for a minute there, a lot of his projects weren't very mainstream. He returned to mainstream prominence with "The Batman," and it was awesome.

I hate to go with the whole “the grass isn’t always greener“ route with this, but it is bizarre how sometimes famous people just wish that they could do normal things. There’s a famous video of Michael Jackson after he bought out a grocery store just so he could go shopping normally. I don’t think that Pattinson has that level of psychological scarring (or money), but the guy became an A-list star overnight. Probably, comfort came with eating dinner on an inflatable boat meant for children.

Something like this has to build character, right? I feel like even with a job as potentially glamorous as a movie star; you do need to live some semi-human existence if you want to continue to pretend to be other people for a living. Anyway, Pattinson is the man and this story only makes me appreciate him more as an actor.
