"I Bought My House Cash" - Jimmy Butler Had The Perfect Response To A Fan That Joked About Needing Him To Score So He Pay His Mortgage

Not too different from Nate's blog earlier today about Malik Monk tweeting about not giving a shit about your parlay

We have another example of fans being super weird to professional athletes when it comes to their bets, this time involving Jimmy Butler. I dunno, maybe this is because I'm not a huge gambler, but I'll never understand not only why people do this, but that they think this is funny or cool? Suggesting or joking about how you need to win a bet in order to afford your mortgage payment is a bit of a self own isn't it? Am I just reading that situation wrong?

Every time I see one of these videos come out all I do is mostly cringe. Maybe this is just a product of the times we're now living in with how prominent sports gambling is and how tied in things now are with pro leagues, but this is also how I feel whenever I see someone fighting in the stands or being a general asshole at a game. Why does it feel like it's so hard for people to just be normal at pro sporting events? Don't fight anyone, don't troll players about your bet or beg them to do something for your bet, just be normal and watch the game. Cheer when cool shit happens, boo if you want, just be normal.

I love Jimmy's response though. It's not his problem you're broke and still have a mortgage. He paid for his house in cash and he has no sympathy for you. That's a much better response than what we got from Malik Monk in my opinion, at least Butler was willing to have a little fun with the guy while also unloading a pretty legit flex. Who pays for their house completely in cash? You know it's not like Butler bought a 3 bed 2 bath for a reasonable price either. That was always something I wondered about when I was in the home buying process years ago. We were losing out to all these other offers that were straight cash and my brain simply couldn't comprehend how all these people in my price bracket have that much money just lying around. It was very annoying.

Sadly, Butler only scored 15 in that game against the Grizzlies, so it would appear like that fan was shit out of luck. Still won the game though, which is truly all that matters.
