39-Year-Old Jellyroll Won Best New Artist Of The Year at Last Night's CMAs And Gave One Of The Most Electric Speeches Ever

“There is something poetic about a 39-year-old winning New Artist of the Year. I don’t know where you are at in your life or what’s going on… but keep going!!!”

I fucking love this guy, and I don't understand how anybody doesn't. 

He makes good music. 

He's passionate as fuck. 

He's as humble and grateful as any celebrity you'll find anywhere.

He's also a fucking quote machine.

“The windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason, because what’s in front of you is much more important than what’s behind you.”

(Damn, that's good.)

Also, his story is pretty freaking remarkable.

He did not ONE, but TWO fucking incredible sit-down interviews with the boys from Bussin With The Boys. 

The first in 2021 when pretty much nobody outside of Nashville had ever heard of him-

And the second more recently where he was accompanied by his ride-or-die wife, Bunnie

He's also popped up on some other random episodes of theirs but those are my two favorites.

The adversity this guy overcame to get to where he is today is nothing short of a miracle. He gave an awesome speech before the show tonight on the red carpet where he pointed out that "God chooses the most unlikely messengers." It's so true.

He's got everybody rooting for him, and rightfully so. He's not even an underdog story. He is a dead dog story.

I was at The Barstool Invitational all night but from everything I've been following online it seems Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning did a good job hosting.

Post Malone continued to dip his feet deeper and deeper into the country waters by performing on stage tonight with his buddies Morgan Wallen and Hardy. Performing a tribute to Joe Diffie with his hits "Pickup Man", and “John Deere Green”.

He also posed for this gem backstage with Jellyroll

Friends of the program, and recent Barstool Backstage guests Brothers Osborne took home more hardware

It was also pretty cool that the CMA's acknowledged Tracy Chapman with the award of "Song Of The Year" for Luke Combs' cover of "Fast Car"

And in the least surprising news ever, Chris Stapleton fucking crushed it. As right as rain. He performed an incredible rendition of the record he co-wrote with Semisonic’s Dan Wilson, "White Horse".

Then he cleaned up on the biggest male award of the night. Per usual.

I said this two years ago and I'll repeat it again, rename the CMA's the Chris Stapleton Awards. The man is in his own league.
