Matt Rhule’s Speech To His Team About The Strength Of Their Mothers Is The Best Thing I Saw This Week

Nebraska caught a lot of shit this year early on after two tough losses to Minnesota and Colorado. Even I jumped on the pile and had Will Compton on Healthy Debate and asked him how on earth he could stand behind the program anymore. 

To his credit he said he trusted in Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers have rallied to win 5 of their last 6 and are very much in the mix in The Big Ten West. When watching Matt Rhule interact with his team you can tell why he’s rallied the troops. 

The players love him. Seeing videos like that was enough to sell me but then I see videos like this one about how important it is to honor the strong women in your life, including an anecdote about his own mother. Just an all timer speech to get your team fired up and the best part is it’s 100% authentic. A lot of times coaches lean on gimmicks or cliche things to pump up their team, Rhule didn’t. You can tell he meant every single word and it shows. Absolutely awesome, awesome speech and provides us once again some things are bigger than sports.
