Another Game, Another Shit Show From The Refs - This Time The Rams Getting Hosed With A Spot That Makes No Sense
I know complaining about refs is stupid, doesn't change anything and mostly falls on deaf ears besides the team who benefits from it saying it was a good call. That said, I will never stop. It's in my blood to complain about refs because I'm a sports fan and see it happen far too often. This time we're talking about the Rams/Steelers game. I don't understand how that spot happened:
I know that yellow line isn't official, but it's 2023. That better be as close to the actual line to gain as possible. Let's assume it is, because again, it's 2023 and we have technology for everything (besides refs, for now). That ain't close. Yet the chains came out and it was a first down. Mind you we should have better technology than the chain too, but that's a blog for a different day.
Hilarious we're not even talking about PI, I just assume that's called wrong almost every time.
I mean we already know what happened to the Colts earlier today:
Every single week we just trot out these NFL officials and games are flat out decided on shit calls. It's too big of a storyline right now in the league. Back to the Rams for a second. They were out of challenges so they couldn't challenge the spot since there was 12 seconds before the 2 minute warning. Here's the thing I don't get. We have these expedited reviews, why not use it there? If they were ruled short, it's an automatic review for turnover on downs. I don't get how someone who initiates the expedited review doesn't look at it and go yeah, that seems fucked up!
All I know is we invest probably too much time into watching football. We sit our asses on the couches, shovel food into our mouths and are supposed to be treated to guys trying to take each others heads off. Instead the refs are what we end up talking about because it's atrocious. Figure it the fuck out, Goodell.
