A Big Thank You To Those Bozos Who Vote In The AP Poll For Giving Kentucky Its Lowest Preseason Ranking During The Coach Cal Era

Alright so today is the day that really hits we're close to college basketball season. The day the AP preseason poll comes out:

Let me stress the AP poll does not matter. The tournament committee does not use it for anything. It's pointless. Well, outside for starting arguments and giving coaches dumb fuel for some us against the world speech. For that, I thank these bozos. They decided to rank Kentucky at number 16, the lowest Coach Cal has ever been in the preseason at Kentucky.

Fine. Good. Cal lives on the Kentucky vs the world or everyone out to get them. This is perfect, as long as guys decide to make shots and he remembers not to play a bunch of bigs at the same time. Both questionable to achieve, but I have faith. I have faith because that's what being a fan, especially one of the best program in America, is all about. I know Bradshaw and Ugo are hurt for Kentucky, which really kills some depth up front. Time for someone to step up.

Make no bones about it, this is one of the biggest years for Calipari and his run at Kentucky. You can't go 8 years without a Final Four and have people happy. It doesn't happen. Not when the first 6 years included a title and 4 trips to the Final Four. No matter how dumb the NCAA Tournament can be, it's how you are judged in this sport. Can't be losing to St. Peter's or choking away Elite Eight games.

I know that's also part of the reason why people put Kentucky this low. It's impossible not to look at the last couple seasons and not feel comfortable. Fine. Get off the bandwagon. You just gave me a pissed off John Calipari with his back against the wall. Time for him to prove why I've gone to bat for him well over a decade.

As for the rest of the top-25?

-No real surprises.

- Kansas was going to be the No. 1 team, only shock is they didn't have a near unanimous selection for it.

-Shout out FAU. They bring back everyone but 1 guy from last year's team who went 35-4. They are legit, even if you think 10 is a little too high.

- Marquette is going to be the No. 1 team in the country at some point. I'm well aware of Shaka teams in March, but Tyler Kolek is a star and they bring back a good amount of their team who won the Big East regular season and Tournament.

- Can't believe they didn't rank St. John's (3rd team out) strictly because of Pitino.

- 5 SEC teams? Basketball league.
