A Memphis Lineman Got Ejected Against Tulane Last Night Following A Sucker Punch To The Testicles

We have our second nut shot in two weeks. I’ve never been a football player, but I can imagine there’s some sort of unwritten code in football, similar to baseball, that you don’t go below the belt. You see pushing and shoving in the trenches all the time. Sometimes, it gets too excessive, and guys get called for penalties. But a nut shot, no pun intended, is an all-time low.

There is an art to the nut shot. People getting hit in the nuts is usually funny, but this is one of the rare circumstances in which the humor is taken out. If you just blindly punch somebody in the testicles, you’re a scumbag. I’m not going to act like I was spending my Friday night watching Tulane play Memphis, but the world stops when someone gets hit in the nuts. Last week, we had that hilarious footage of that Wisconsin cameraman getting hit by the football. This footage was not nearly as funny. 

I do love that every time we get a proper nut shot in football, that shit has to be analyzed and rewound over and over as if we’re all the forensics team trying to assess a serious crime. It makes sense, though. It’s college football, and it’s America. This is the land of nut shot.
