It Sounds Like We May Be Getting A Reboot Of "Guitar Hero" And I'm Ready To Rock Out Again

Usually, I'm the one to complain about reboots because I yearn for more original and unique ideas, but this is one of these instances in which I'm making an exception. I am all for a "Guitar Hero" reboot. I'm 28 years old, so I'm not exactly sure what the cut-off date would be, but kids these days have no idea how big of a deal "Guitar Hero" was back in the day. In the early days of YouTube, if you didn't upload a video of yourself ripping "Through The Fire and the Flames" on expert, then most people wouldn't have believed it ever happened at all.

"Rock Band" was meant to be an extension of "Guitar Hero. I know that game did well, but I don't believe it ever reached the heights that "Guitar Hero" did. These games were a neat way for younger generations to get into older rock music. Some of the first exposure I had to those songs was playing guitar hero. The first time I ever heard "Carry On My Wayward Son" was playing that game. It bizarrely made you feel like a rockstar. There was an entire "South Park" episode about it.

As excited as I am to play this, I guarantee you this game will make me feel old. All the songs they're going to include will be songs I listened to when I was growing up. We're going to have an entire generation of kids who will be like "Hey, this, 'Mr. Brightside' song is actually pretty cool," and I'm just going to shiver as I watch my life wither away one second at a time. The existential crisis can come later. I'm really excited to play another "Guitar Hero" game.
