LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE!

There's a good chance you may have missed it, but Taylor Swift was at the Chiefs game last night at MetLife Stadium. The NFL and NBC did a great job at keeping it under the radar and not making too big of a deal out of it. It would be unbecoming of the biggest league in professional sports to simp over a musical artist and clearly allow her presence to impact the result of the game, so I'm glad the NFL didn't stoop that low.

But not only was Taylor Swift in attendance at the game, but she also brought along a few of her other rich and famous friends. Folks like Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Sophie Turner. As far as social events go, that suite was the place to be last night. And in the midst of all of that action, we got this photo of Brittany Mahomes clearly having a miserable time.

Now here's the thing--never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd have to side with Brittany Mahomes. She's aggravating beyond belief. But…I mean…I think I have to have Brittany Mahomes' back on this one. Because the thing is that Brittany Mahomes, for better or for worse, is an actual fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. She lives or dies with that team. And when your team is playing? Well there's nothing worse than watching the game with a bunch of people who don't actually give a shit about the outcome of the game. There's nothing worse than being surrounded by people treating the game as if it's a social event, rather than the deciding factor on how your entire week is about to go.

I get that Taylor Swift kinda sorta wants the Chiefs to win out there, but she's not losing any sleep if they lost to the Jets on Sunday Night Football. Ryan Reynolds sure as shit doesn't care if the Chiefs win or lose that game, and he's just going to spend the entire 3 hours making little quips and chime-in's the whole night. Sophie Turner is probably calling it "American Football" the whole time, so she clearly doesn't give a damn about the game.

The point I'm getting at here is that any actual fan in America would be miserable in that suite. Anybody who actually cares about their team would hate their life if they're surrounded by a group of people talking about god knows what when there's a crucial 3rd & 22 on the line. Sit down, shut up, and watch the game with an unhinged level of intensity like the rest of us. Where something as "small" as an overthrown ball on 2nd & 8 is going to take at least a week off your life. If you're not going to be so invested in the game that the stress makes you feel physically ill, then just stay home.
