A Kickball Game In Sacramento Turned Violent Because Rec League Hardos Are The Worst
CBS News - A kickball game that was part of a Sacramento sport and social league ended in a violent brawl that left one person knocked unconscious.
The video of the brawl has been shared on social media, shocking league participants like Jovi and Laniah.
Jovi and Laniah were not at that game but have participated in the kickball league for more than five years. They say they have never seen anyone become violent on the field Kickball is one of ten sports put on by Xoso Sport and Social League. The league aims to bring people 21 and up together to make friends through sports and social events.
"It really is just a fun, friendly league. It's just about adults having fun and doing recreational sports and nothing more than that," Jovi said.
The Sacramento Police Department said they responded around 9:15 to reports of a fight between several people. It's unclear what exactly started the fight. A player who was there told CBS13 that it involved a spectator, but that has not been confirmed.
A police report was filed, but the man knocked unconscious refused to press charges.
I don’t like blogging stuff like this because that guy unconscious on the ground getting his face caved in was me 6 months ago. Horrible, terrible shit.
But the larger point needs to be addressed here: what is wrong with these people who take recreation league sports, emphasis on the word recreation, this fucking seriously?
The craziest part of this whole Sacramento kickball thing is that was a co-ed league kickball game. That wasn’t men’s flag football or inline hockey. From everything I know, aren’t co-ed leagues, especially kickball, basically just singles events and ways to meet other girls/guys? Basically weekly hookups where you play kickball then go to the bar after and make regrettable decisions? What the fuck were these guys so worked up about?
John Rich wrote a blog a few months ago about dealing with kickball hardos in particular, and he couldn't have been more right.
These people are the absolute worst.
High school heroes, stuck in the mindset where their head coach, the head cheerleader, and father has slighted them to the point they have to prove it to the world out on the field. They don't realize they're playing a bunch of people out there who are more interested in getting drunk and laid than competing. They're like Sack from Wedding Crashers
