Bryce Harper Lost His Damn Mind On Angel Hernandez, And Now Some Lucky Kid Is Going Home With His Helmet Because Of It

The thing about Angel Hernandez is that he's quite possibly the worst son of a gun to ever do his job. I'm not just talking as a major league umpire. We're talking anybody to ever be employed anywhere. If 99% of the population were as bad at their job as Angel Hernandez is, they would have been fired eons ago. But for some reason this old bastard gets to hang around.

Either way, I've never seen a more win-win-win situation in my entire life. First off, Bryce Harper wins here for a few reasons. The Phillies have already clinched their spot in the postseason, so realistically these games don't matter all that much. So not only does he get to take the rest of the night off, but he also gets to lose his damn mind at Angel Hernandez in the process. He makes more than enough money to soak the fine.

The Phillies win here because they can always use a little extra fire heading into the postseason. We're only a few days away from Red October, and the boys being on edge here is a great sign. Clearly they're thirsty for blood, and Bryce just needed to get a little taste from Angel.

And lastly, whatever kid ended up coming up with Bryce's helmet once he tossed it into the crowd is the real winner here. Any ol' shmuck can come away from a Phillies game with a ball. I'd say at least 25 balls end up in the stands per night between the balls they toss up after the final outs of innings, foul balls, and home runs. But very, very rarely does anybody walk away from CBP with a Bryce Harper helmet. Imagine being in 3rd grade and heading to class tomorrow morning wearing Bryce's helmet? You're the coolest kid in school for at least the next 5 months. Unreal.

End of the day--love to see Bryce tear into that old bastard. That one was for America.
