The Office Is Reportedly Being Rebooted Despite Nobody Asking For It

Please excuse me for a second but posting Office gifs always felt like a very dated thing to do however I think I am allowed to let some fly since this blog is about The Office.

Thanks everybody for letting me vent like someone in 2014.

So with whispers that the writer's strike is about to end, we get our first big announcement about a new show and it is...a reboot of a classic show that everyone already loved and didn't want to see rebooted. Hollywood is officially back baby!

If the first go round of The Office taught us anything it's that they caught lightning in a bottle with Steve Carrell as Michael and once he left the show, it went from a first ballot Hall of Famer to an All-Star to an aging star that could occasionally remind you of his greatness but usually just made you sad. I personally think it started to fade once Sabre took over and hated the last season with that included all that awkward Jim and Pam stuff. But I know there will be 1000 different takes telling me that I am wrong and those seasons were actually incredible, so I'll just leave it at that. No matter what you think of all that, I’m pretty sure we can all agree on some of the funniest scenes from the original wouldn’t make it in this hypersensitive world of 2023.

I don't know who will be in the cast of this new version of The Office but I already hate them all because I love the OGs. It's not the most rational take for a person to have but that's how people deal with change in real life, so why can't I bring those feelings to the small screen? Sure there's a chance they hit multiple home runs with multiple characters who grow into stars like they did with Michael, Jim, Andy. Hell, even Darryl had his time in the sun along with the supporting characters all being essentially perfect. But doing it again or even nearly as good is still going to feel like Fake Diesel and Razor Ramon, even if the old showrunner is there along with old any cast members who couldn't find a good gig anywhere else.

Blogger's Note: Everything can ALWAYS be explained in wrestlers terms

Also the only way a new Creed Bratton works is if they actually hire Creed Bratton to play Creed Bratton once again. Truly the GOAT in every true meaning of those four letters.
