Update: Jimmy Fallon Is Now Getting Called Out By Fans After Being Forced To Apologize To His Staff Via Zoom

Source - Jimmy Fallon took to Zoom on Thursday to offer a groveling apology to his “Tonight Show” staffers after reports surfaced of his toxic workplace behavior — but fans aren’t buying it.

One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, pointed to a line the 48-year-old TV host allegedly said during the all-hands meeting: “It’s embarrassing and I feel so bad.

The commenter said the “apology sounds like it was spoken by a toddler.”

“Why didn’t and couldn’t he apologize in person? I find the Zoom apology insulting,” another shared, while others chimed in that Fallon likely only said he’s sorry “cause he got called out.”

“Oh, f–k off. Fallon’s ‘apology’ is about how he was inconvenienced by the Rolling Stone article exposing him as a raging a–hole and nothing about apologizing to staff or saying how he will change,” another scathing comment said.

It's never enough, is it? What is Jimmy supposed to do? Honestly? What is he supposed to do in that situation? Hold a press conference where he cries into the mic like Tammy Faye Bakker? Proclaim to the world that he's an awful person? Quit his job altogether? The whole thing is ridiculous. Jerry broke down the ins and outs of the scandal here...

TL/DR: Jimmy Fallon is a prick. He's had a new showrunner every year since the show's inception and his employees are scared of him. Again, not shocking considering almost every "nice guy" TV host in the past decade has been exposed as an asshole, but it is what it is.

Here's the long and short of the apology...

“It’s embarrassing and I feel so bad. Sorry if I embarrassed you and your family and friends,” Fallon said during a Zoom meeting with “Tonight” employees, Variety has learned. “I feel so bad I can’t even tell you.” He told the assemblage during the meeting, which was said to be brief: “I want this show to be fun, it should be inclusive for everybody, it should be funny, it should be the best show, the best people.”

Yawn. I wouldn't be surprised if an NBC exec had a gun to his head as he was saying it. And part of me wants to side with the staff, but I just can't. Yes, Jimmy should've treated them better, but there's something I enjoy about an old school Hollywood diva brutalizing their staff. It's almost like he's a relic from the past. Just a drunken, sweary, hell raiser who is one person on TV and another behind closed doors. It humanizes Jimmy, which is exactly what he needs.

Having said that, the whole (allegedly) "showing up to work drunk and making his staffers want to kill themselves" could use some work. Anyway, thoughts and prayers to everyone involved. Fingers crossed they can figure it out and become one big happy family. That's it for this one. Thanks for reading.
